Who does not dream of perfect, flawless skin? There is a good reason why the market for skin care products has grown to a market worth around 135 billion dollars in recent years. More and more people are willing to spend more money on the latest trends in the cosmetics industry in the hope of finally getting their skin problems under control. At the same time, the demand for natural products is growing as today's consumers are enlightened, interested and more ecologically aware – chemical bombs with often questionable production conditions or the use of animal testing are moving more and more into the background.
One trend in the cosmetics industry that has become a real global hype in recent years is the use of CBD in skin care products. CBD (cannabidiol) is a natural active ingredient extracted from the industrial Cannabis Sativa strain. CBD is extracted as a powder from the plant and then diluted with other oils such as hemp or coconut, resulting in the so-called CBD oil.
There are already several studies on the benefits of CBD oil in skin diseases and on the treatment of (chronic) pain and the alleviation of anxiety. In general, it can therefore be said that CBD makes a significant contribution to increasing physical and mental well-being. It is also popular as a natural remedy for insomnia and to additionally strengthen the immune system. However, CBD currently receives a lot of attention and importance in skin care. The reason for this is our skin's own endocannabinoid system to which cannabinoid binds and thus counteracts a variety of skin problems. It should be pointed out that CBD, in contrast to THC, which is also found in the hemp plant, has no psychoactive effect. It is only used to calm and combat stress and shows fantastic effects in skin care.
The real problems that our skin has to deal with most are in our everyday life: smog, dirt, fine dust and exhaust fumes are only a selection of the stress factors that our skin is exposed to every day, especially in cities. Researchers estimate that only 20-30 percent of all skin changes are pre-programmed biological aging processes, while 70 to 80 percent are caused by environmental influences. In Korea, where the air in cities is particularly polluted, "anti-pollution" is now considered the most important anti-aging trend. Also in Europe more and more cosmetics manufacturers are relying on the use of CBD and celebrating the new path to beautiful, flawless skin.
When the skin gets dirty, the following happens: the dirt does not only stick to the surface. Dirt particles contain heavy metals and organic substances that penetrate the skin and cause inflammation. As a result, free radicals are formed – triggers for premature skin aging that are difficult to combat and are dangerous to health in general.
This is exactly where CBD comes in: the unique pharmaceutical quality of the active ingredient CBD helps to neutralize urban skin problems and prevent premature skin aging – and thus to preserve a lasting radiant and healthy skin. In addition, CBD also helps against inflammation, skin impurities and blocked pores. CBD receptors, which are found throughout the skin, are able to regulate the life cycle of cells for a more radiant and youthful skin. CBD is now used worldwide to combat skin problems.
Skin impurities and acne are an annoying problem that plagues not only teenagers but also adults. In most cases, the causes of acne in adults are hormonal disorders, stress, an unhealthy diet and incorrect skin care. Their development is caused by increased sebum secretion and the bacterium Propionibacterium Acnes. Sebum normally plays an important role in skin protection, but if the skin produces too much of it, it can also cause unwanted acne. Our fight against acne can take place on several levels – starting with a healthy diet, regular cleansing of dead skin cells, avoiding stress and regular physical activity. Of course, the right skin care is crucial to balance the skin and bring it into a healthy and radiant state. CBD-cannabidiol is undoubtedly an active ingredient that is very promising in skin care for acne.
Clinical studies have shown that the CBD molecule reduces sebum production in the sebaceous glands, which is highly desirable in skin care for acne and more severe skin problems, as sebum production is the most common cause of acne.
CBD performs complex anti-inflammatory and antibacterial measures, which have also been proven in many other experimental studies on diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis etc. Red acne (not blackheads) are the result of inflammatory skin changes, which CBD cannabinoid can calm successfully.
Our body has its own endocannabinoid system to which the cannabinoid from the hemp plant can bind, as it contains phytocannabinoids (cannabinoid molecules) that are very similar to the body's own endocannabinoids. Endocannabinoids coordinate the functions of our entire organism and help the body when it is sick or under stress. One could say that the endocannabinoid system is the leader of our body, which ensures that our body remains in harmony and works harmoniously. CBD-cannabinoid is so effective in fighting skin problems because our skin has its own endocannabinoid system. This system ensures that our skin is healthy and balanced. Balms containing CBD cannabinoid bind directly to the endocannabinoid system in the skin and help the skin to find its balance quickly and effectively.
Can CBD oil help with wrinkles? CBD oil is not only an anti-inflammatory agent, but also has an antioxidant effect. Consequently, cannabidiol oil can also significantly reduce the visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles and skin clouding.
CBD not only heals damaged skin, but can also reduce stress and improve sleep, two well-known triggers for worry lines on the face. In addition, CBD can promote collagen production in the skin, which increases the elasticity of the skin and stores moisture.
CBD is also used by many skin care companies as a key ingredient in eye creams. For people affected by sore and swollen eyes, a skin cream that uses the regenerating, anti-inflammatory and soothing properties of organic CBD oil could be just the thing to help the skin under the eyes look healthy and free of lines, wrinkles and dark circles.
